B.Ed. Program
B. Ed. At Indira Gandhi Teachers Training College is a two-year regular teacher training course approved by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University. The course curriculum intends to professionally equip teachers with all the requisite theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the teachers to handle the challenges posed in the classroom of the new millennium. An external exam is conducted by the university.
The course of B.Ed. generally begins on the first working day of the month of July. Every student should therefore join the College positively on that day, failing which his name will be struckoff after waiting for three days. No separate letter will be sent to them in this connection. A minimum of 80% attendance at classes and a minimum of 90% attendance at practical, in each subject is compulsory.
On the first day, students are introduced to the Principal and Teachers for orientation followed by one-week Induction Programme. Throughout the year students participate in College annual sports, debate, workshops, seminars, reunion, drama competition and various other social activities. The College observes Netaji’s birthday, Republic Day, Independence Day, Mother Language Day, Yoga Day, Youth Day, Rabindra Jayanti, Teacher’s Day etc. The College publishes a wall magazine called ……….
